About James de Beauvoir-Tupper and Edwin Purnell

James de Beauvoir-Tupper is Policy Manager for the Future, Safety & Innovation division at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, he leads the teams that develops future policy and regulatory change for the CAA Future of Flight Programme. Ensuring that these frameworks are safe, proportionate and fit for purpose for the future.

James has worked at the CAA for the last six years in the RPAS sector. He has a background in air traffic management and aerodrome safety, with a focus on the introduction of new technology into these sectors.

Edwin Purnell is the FS&I Acting Policy Principle for RPAS at the UK Civil Aviation Authority. He leads the CAA''s most significant RPAS policy projects including UK SORA, RAE-F, RAE-PC, and SAIL Mark. Additionally he has helped develop the CAA''s digital application journeys for both PDRA''s and UK SORA.

Edwin has worked at the CAA for 2 years, he has previously held several senior RPAS operations management positions and is a former Amazon Prime Air Remote Pilot.
